S. George Ullman Appeals Brief

Introduction to The S. George Ullman Appeals Brief

The following ( in four sections) is the complete text of George Ullman’s successful appeals case, filed in response to the devastating 1930 lower court judgment that ordered him to repay nearly $100,000 to the estate of Rudolph Valentino (equivalent to approximately $1.5 million today).
The details of this complex legal battle have long been misrepresented, redacted, and suppressed. Ullman's appeals brief—totaling 174 pages—has rarely, if ever, been made publicly accessible in full. It stands as a thorough account of the settlement process of Valentino’s estate, and a crucial historical record.
I share this document not only as part of the public record but as a personal testament. George Ullman was ruthlessly targeted for his loyalty to Valentino. He was accused, humiliated, and dragged through years of legal warfare. And yet—he prevailed.
The appeals court overturned the judgment, affirming what many suspected all along: Ullman acted in good faith. He did not embezzle estate funds. He upheld the final wishes of his friend.
This case resonates with me because, nearly a century later, a similar campaign of disinformation and character assassination has been waged against me and my late husband Renato Floris—largely because we dared to defend Ullman’s truth. Like him, we have navigated hostile revisionism and weaponized narrative control.
I present Ullman's complete appeals brief here for researchers, truth-seekers, and history’s record. You may never read all 174 pages—but know they are here, preserved and unedited, because George Ullman deserves that dignity. His vindication was not just legal—it was moral.
